Civil Liberties Examiner: Arrested for recording the police on your own property
The American Civil Liberties Union often advises people to record encounters with the police in order to discourage abusive behavior, or to capture evidence of such behavior when it does occur. The ACLU has even distributed video cameras to the public for free in areas where allegations of police misconduct are especially egregious. Residents of high-crime areas in St. Louis were among the recipients of such high-tech largesse. But if you take the ACLU's advice, you may find yourself put in handcuffs by cops who don't want their actions recorded for posterity. snip Arresting people for recording the police is ridiculous and contemptible. Law-enforcement officers, drawing tax-funded paychecks, wearing officially issued uniforms, and wielding vast powers that can be (and have been) misused against the public, should be subject to recording at all times, for the safety of the public. Officers unwilling to have their actions preserved in video and audio form probably ought not be carrying guns and badges.
Man gives up US citizenship “I was disgusted to be associated through citizenship with the most dangerous gang of criminals in the world, the United States government. Renouncing my citizenship is a means of achieving a political divorce with that vile institution,” Gogulski said. “American politicians extol their state in terms of liberty, human rights, free markets and the rule of law. Examination of the country’s history and present actions reveals nothing but lies and hypocrisy. The genocide of Native Americans, slavery, nuclear slaughter at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, support for brutal dictators, the torture of innocents at places like Guantánamo and Abu Ghraib, the massive robberies for the benefit of big business in the name of ‘rescuing’ the economy, the world’s biggest prison population, the growth of a domestic police state and the brutal wars of oppression underway in Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia paint a rather different picture. America, via its government agents, is truly exceptional – exceptionally evil,” he stated.
Gogulski says that when he receives the Certificate of Loss of Nationality he will apply to the Slovak Interior Ministry for a Travel Document – similar to a passport – under the 1954 Convention on the Status of Stateless Persons, which Slovakia signed in 2000. He says that he has no plans to leave Bratislava until then, and that he recognizes that his life without citizenship will be more difficult, especially with respect to travel. But, “if the Schengen Zone is to be my cage,” Gogulski states, “I think it’s large enough for me. There’s enough to explore within Europe to last a lifetime.”
On his personal blog, Gogulski indicates that he works as a freelance translator and editor. He also writes about anarchism and supports the revolutionary theory called agorism, which posits that free-market service providers will compete with and eventually supplant states, giving rise to a voluntary society. “Governments pride themselves on notions of ‘equality’ and ‘rule of law’, but fail to apply the same standards to themselves that their subjects must endure,” he says, explaining his political philosophy. “The foundation of state power, taxation, is robbery. That the robbers have fancy uniforms, impressive titles and the sanction of law does not in the slightest way change the basic formula for extortion: pay us, or we will kill you."
He's right about government in general and our government in particular. He's braver than I, I will not, cannot, renounce my citizenship; but I do feel the same way about our government, it is a criminal organization with the intent of enslaving every person under its mantle; and if we the people had any brains, or balls, we'd try all government officials (elected and appointed, excepting only Ron Paul who does actually uphold the Constitution 24/7) for treason against the America our Founding Fathers created.
As for the intelligence of cops, they will be denied admission to the ranks of law enforcement if their IQ is too high, the statists want the cops to be dumber than most of society. Smart cops might question the things they are asked (required) to do.

Did you read the comments on that article? Man, I thought Alex Jones was considered "fringe." Not if the opinions there are in line with majority opinion, he isn't.
One of the respondents posted this. I'm not sure how it relates to Kissinger's article exactly (well, yes I am, tangentially) but... MAN! A Rabbi blasting Zionism?
What's next? Dogs and cats, living together? Oh, the humanity...
So Michael Phelps smokes pot. Whoopty-shit. It probably won't affect his swimming eligibility but it might blow endorsement deals. Grow some balls, Michael. Get with Tommy Chong and bring back Chong's Bongs. This time, operate the business out of a sane country.
" 'I engaged in behavior which was regrettable and demonstrated bad judgment,' Phelps said." Damn straight. You made deals with corporate tyrants then let yourself be photographed taking a toke. Terrible judgement! Next time, smoke out of sight.
Either that, or stay away from corporate tyrants. You might also try rolling. Hold a packet of ZigZags up for the camera and smile.

No need for Phelps to apologize. The government should apologize to him for keeping pot illegal for long past its expiry date. Phelps should become the public face and spokesperson for legalization. How's that for an idea?
Note that I am not a user of the product, but I recognize an adult's right to use the product if they so choose. The government has no right to say yes or no.

It's a wonderful idea. Problem is, as Phelps said himself, he's just a kid. His under-ornaments are gonna have to drop down first. Maybe he should stop wearing those tight Speedos, give 'em some breathing room.
I'm sure that now, metaphorically speaking (or not), he's sitting in a straight-backed chair with his hands clasped around his knees, nodding earnestly, Adam's apple bobbing, while a bunch of suits lecture him thus: "First of all, you're going to make a public statement and say you made a terrible, terrible mistake. Then you'll volunteer to make a series of PSA's for DARE. You screwed the pooch big time, Mike, but maybe we can make this thing blow over."

State Sovereignty Resolutions » Tenth Amendment Center http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com/2009/02/23/state-sovereignty-resolutions/ There are now 13 states with these resolutions in the legislative process. I definitely think we are seeing the beginning of a revolution, of sorts, by the states. Now if we could just get the recall petitions going in every congressional district we might actually put those "sows" on the run. Tennessee
Arkansas
Minnesota
South Carolina
Georgia
Texas
New Hampshire
Missouri
Montana
Michigan
Arizona
Washington
Oklahoma
Oh, I nearly forgot, CA has a legislator who introduced a bill to legalize cannabis. Got the link to the story somewhere around here, I'll go find it and come back later to post it.
